Many of you have heard about the work that, our sister organization, Set Me Free Project is doing to help fight human trafficking. Josh is one of Set Me Free Project's partner team members and he needs your help! Please consider a donation to help support Josh and his beautiful wife, Machaira.
Shalom in the name of Jesus our Lord!
My name is Joshua Hurt, and I am writing to you today to ask for your help with something near and dear to my heart.
By way of a short introduction, I am a missionary. Plain and simple. I heard the Lord’s calling at a prayer meeting when I was seven years old. During the course of my growing up, I was privileged to be a part of my family’s mission when the Lord called us all to Ireland to do church planting.
Through the years, I pursued many different aspects of ministry from teaching Wednesday night Bible study to working at a Child Evangelism Fellowship youth camp to street evangelism. All in all, I was unsure as to exactly what kind of ministry the Lord wanted me to do.
After many different roads, the Lord brought my wife and me to Omaha where we became involved with a countertrafficking unit. Over the years, I have acquired several black belts in various hand-to-hand combat systems, as well as spent time working as private security and surveillance. Using these skills, I was accepted on to a team called The Crusader Foundation. This is a team that rescues and provides a way out for victims of human trafficking. The work we do is entirely pro bono, and every member of the team is a volunteer. This, I feel, is exactly where the Lord wants me.
Unfortunately, however, a month ago, the funding that I had for continuing the work of protecting these victims was eliminated, and now I face a difficult situation. If I do not receive the funding to continue, I will have to turn in my badge and leave the team.
So I am making an appeal to the Body of Christ. My monthly expenses are only $2,000. That’s it. On that amount, my wife and I are able to live comfortably and finance our part in the rescue operations. I am asking anyone who has a heart to see the victims of sex trafficking set free to consider providing funding to my mission so that we are able to continue the work of being the Hands of Christ to a lost and dying world.
Your gift of any amount is tax deductible through our partner organization, The Set Me Free Project (an organization that brings awareness and education to stop kids from ever seeing the dark of trafficking). If you are willing to provide a one-time gift or be a monthly sponsor to support the missionary work I am doing, please go to http://setmefreeproject.net/donate/ or text to the word “donate” to (402) 281-9223. You may also send a check to The Set Me Free Project at P.O. Box 223 Omaha, NE 68010. Please denote in the comments “Josh Hurt.”
Thank you for your gracious consideration.
May the Peace of Jesus be yours.
