A Big Thank You
by Joy Martin, Co-founder Set Me Free Ministries
This past Friday many of the Set Me Free Ministries team members gathered together for a time of food and fellowship. It was also a way for my sister and me to thank at least some of the people who make Set Me Free Ministries a reality. We had nearly 50 men, women, and children who came together to celebrate what God has done and continues to do with this ministry.
We are constantly amazed at the people God has brought together to be a part of this team. When we started talking about forming a ministry back in 2007, we didn’t stop to think about the logistics of what we wanted to accomplish. In hindsight, it’s a good thing we simply forged ahead. If we had paused too long, we would have psyched ourselves out. Instead, we quickly learned to trust God for all things, and He has been faithful beyond our wildest imaginations. And one of the most powerful ways He has demonstrated that faithfulness is through the people He has put in the path of Set Me Free Ministries.
Our team is made up of relatives, friends, and acquaintances. We come from all walks of life and represent many different life stages. Some we have recruited, and some have fallen in our laps. But despite our different backgrounds and journeys, we are all part of one team that has become a family. And we have one common goal. We want to share our love of Jesus with every man, woman, and child who enters the doors of a Set Me Free Ministries event. We love what we do, but we do it all for the Glory of God. He is both our inspiration and our foundation.
And to each and every person who has been any part of the Set Me Free Ministries team, I would like to publicly thank you. Perhaps it is a bit cliché, but we truly couldn’t do it without each and every one of you. We ask a lot of you, and you generously give your time and talents to serve our amazing God. We are so blessed to call you family.
